1921
NOVA WERKE was founded in Zurich, Switzerland
When NOVA WERKE was founded, its employees ground cylinders and crankshafts in a small workshop. Despite these modest beginnings, the company's pistons and piston rings for combustion engines soon made NOVA WERKE AG famous far beyond the borders of Switzerland.
March 1970
Relocation of the company headquarters to Effretikon in Zurich
Around the same time, the company diversified into new areas that focused on high technology. With a focus on the “high pressure technology” segment, it produced components, systems and equipment for high pressure applications up to 10,000 bar.
The company also developed strongly in the areas of "engine components" and "surface technology". NOVA WERKE AG later unified services and processes across these three product lines under the registered trademark NOVA SWISS.
1979
Subsidiaries in France and Germany are established
NOVA SWISS S.à.r.l. France today employs some 20 staff who develop and produce components and systems for high-pressure technology. In the same year, the subsidiary NOVA WERKE Deutschland GmbH was founded and is also involved in high-pressure technology. The small team based in Dortmund is responsible for the distribution of NOVA SWISS products throughout Germany.
