Research and Development

Professional skills

Based on our extensive knowledge, we design components and systems for high-pressure applications of gases and liquids, mainly for pressures above 500 bar.

CAD and FEA tools

We develop innovative solutions considering mechanical and material-scientific aspects and backgrounds using state-of-the-art technologies such as 3D CAD software, FEA analyses of loads, vibrations, flows and thermal properties.

Metallography laboratory

We also operate a well-equipped metallography laboratory with first-class facilities for testing theoretical knowledge in practice. We carry out hardness measurements, microstructure and damage analyses on components as well as checks on coating quality using coating thickness and coating porosity measurements.

Test facilities and test benches

Whether it's rapid prototyping using 3D printing, determining service life, or conducting functional tests with various media and temperatures, at NOVA’s in-house test facilities and test benches, we can thoroughly test products based on customer requirements.

Production know-how

Component Manufacturing

Our component manufacturing involves the production of all individual parts used in our final products.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art machine park, including 5-axis milling machines and multi-spindle turning centers, we manufacture a wide range of core components in-house. From prototypes to series production, our qualified employees handle the programming and manufacturing with precision and efficiency.

Deep Hole Drilling

Drilling is considered deep hole drilling if the depth of the hole exceeds three times the diameter of the hole.

With our deep hole drilling machine, we can achieve drilling depths up to 1200 mm.

Bending

Using our four CNC-controlled tube bending machines, we produce pipe assemblies with the highest precision and productivity. We process tube diameters ranging from 2 mm to 60 mm.

Our experienced specialist program and manufacture complex tube geometries based on CAD drawings or hand sketches. Their broad expertise ensures an efficient manufacturing process and the highest level of accuracy.

Autofrettage

High and pulsating internal pressures in pipe systems can significantly reduce the service life of the base material. To counteract this effect, we apply the autofrettage process.

In autofrettage, the component is subjected to internal pressure significantly higher than the operational pressure. This treatment greatly enhances the durability and fatigue strength of the material.

Most of our fuel lines undergo the autofrettage process, ensuring durability and reliable performance for our customers.

Assembly

Our dedicated assembly team works daily on assembling our high-quality products, whether for our in-house engine components or in the field of high-pressure technology.
