Wear and friction measurement at Nova Swiss®

At our laboratory we can subject coatings and engineering materials to numerous tribological test procedures in order to study the effects of friction and wear in harsh environments, including high temperatures, high humidity, high mechanical loads and high relative speeds.

Our commitment is to provide the highest level of customer service and expertise in order to solve complex industrial wear problems related to coatings. Whether our customers are striving to extend the service life of their products, reduce the downtime of components or optimize the performance and reliability of their materials, we can help them to achieve their goals.

We use our wear-testing equipment to perform measurements in accordance with standardized procedures (mainly: ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), DIN (German Institute for Standardization) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization), and we also individually tailor our test programs to meet our customers' requirements — whether they need to regularly test a small number of samples or perform thousands of analyses to simulate a specific application.

Equipment

In order to simulate industrial friction and wear problems on different scales, our wear-testing lab is well equipped with a wide range of tribological instruments. Here are some of our test instruments:

1. Oscillatory vibration-friction wear "SRV" (DIN 51834)
